Job Duties and Responsibilities
Television is at an inflection point. This is your chance to be a part of a startup team that is transforming entertainment by changing the perception of what television is and how it can be enjoyed. Driven by the broad appeal of being able to watch live sports, movies and shows anywhere, anytime, Sling TV is the first provider of live television over the internet to multiple devices in your home or outside. We changed the entire industry on how live TV is consumed and we are starting on a second revolution to bring the best of media consumption (live tv and on demand) to consumers.
We are seeking an energetic and passionate individual with both a strong technical background and a proven ability to drive change in an organization. This individual will have to use their in-depth data analysis knowledge to answer the most complex and nuanced marketing questions facing the business. This person will also be responsible for delivering that knowledge to all parts of the organization, from C-Suite to Engineering to individual business units. Sling is a data driven company and we need an individual that is willing to take on new challenges and change how we make decisions.
- Make recommendations to all levels of the business in order to improve the effectiveness of marketing spend
- Perform analysis of marketing attribution and Sling customer data to determine who our best prospective customers are and how to target them
- Advise the business in how to perform proper marketing A/B tests and evaluate A/B testing results in order to determine effectiveness of campaign spend
- Perform ad hoc requests with large data sets
Skills - Experience and Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to derive business value out of complex data/models to create significant change within an organization
- Understanding of digital marketing channels and methods
- Deep understanding of data processes and structures, experience with big data preferred (Hadoop, AWS, GCP)
- Advanced skills with SQL and knowledge of statistical programming languages (Python/R)
- Ability to communicate complex analyses to a wide range of audiences in a clear, concise form
