About FoodMaven

We’re changing the way people think about food. At FoodMaven, our vision is to see all food used…with good purpose. Our mission is to capture and create a market for food otherwise lost in the food system with positive impacts for profits, people, and the planet. FoodMaven sells high-quality local, oversupplied and out of spec food from distributors, manufacturers and producers to restaurants and institutional kitchens at a significant discount. We leverage an efficient online marketplace, big data optimization technology, and an agile logistics model. We then make sure it gets sold, donated or sent to environmentally conscious alternatives.

In short, FoodMaven is good for profits, good for people and good for the planet.

An Insider's view of FoodMaven

What's the biggest problem your team is solving?

We’re trying to solve a big problem–food waste. How do we bring more agility to the industry? A major hurdle to agility is pricing, so we’re introducing price transparency. We’re sharing pricing data with customers to help them make faster buying decisions and hope this has an impact on food waste.

How does the company support your career growth?

FoodMaven has always supported my desire to grow within the company. I was recently given the opportunity to take on a new position. I have learned so much about food waste and ways to combat this major issue. I'm always learning something new each day at work, and to me, that is so valuable.
